Our Greenville team visited a Spartanburg, SC home to complete a comprehensive Panels & Service Upgrades project focused on Whole-House Surge Protection. On September 12, 2025, Tyler Harris installed a whole-home surge protector, added two new 20A breakers, refreshed the main electrical panel, and installed UF 12/2 direct-burial wiring to support dependable, code-compliant power where the homeowner needed it.
What We Did on This Project
- Whole-House Surge Protector: Mounted at the main panel to divert excess voltage safely to ground, protecting the home’s electrical system and connected equipment from lightning-induced surges, utility fluctuations, and everyday equipment cycling.
- 20A Breakers (2 total): Installed standard 20-amp breakers to serve small-appliance circuits and improve circuit separation and reliability.
- Panel Rejuvenation: We vacuumed and cleaned the panel, re-tensioned lugs and breaker terminals, verified proper separation of neutrals and grounds (one conductor per lug), inspected for water intrusion and re-sealed openings, confirmed correct incoming utility voltage, applied antioxidant as needed, and, with consent, tested AFCI/GFCI functionality.
- UF 12/2 Direct-Burial Feeder: Installed and routed for a 20A circuit, observing standard burial depths (24 inches minimum, or 12 inches where GFCI-protected) for a durable, outdoor-ready run.

- Security systems and medical equipment are not included.
