On July 24, 2026, Touchstone Electric’s Asheville team completed a Panels & Service Upgrades project for homeowner Marc Hachey in Arden, NC. The scope included installing a whole-house surge protector at the main electrical panel and adding a new, code-compliant bathroom outlet near the toilet. The goal was to enhance home safety, provide reliable power for a bidet-style accessory, and protect sensitive electronics and appliances from damaging voltage spikes.

- Whole-house surge protection: We installed a panel-mounted surge protective device (SPD) that diverts excess voltage safely to ground, helping shield your home’s wiring, breakers, outlets, appliances, and electronics from lightning-induced surges and utility fluctuations.
