Project overview
We performed a full rewire that included safe power shut‑down, removal of outdated wiring, fishing new conductors through finished spaces, and reconnection of all devices, outlets, and switches. The home now benefits from updated circuits, properly labeled panels, and a clean, organized electrical system. All permitting and inspections were handled by our team.
Major upgrades and installations
- 400A Service Upgrade: Installed a 400A meter/panel combo and two new 200A main panels. Because the panels are located indoors, we added compliant exterior service disconnects. We also removed three outdated panels to streamline the system.
- Garage Power for Workshop: Ran a new feeder and installed a 100A subpanel to support tools and equipment in the garage workshop.
- Smoke Detector System: Installed and supplied an interconnected smoke detector system for whole‑home coverage.
- Dedicated Office Circuit: Added a dedicated circuit in the office for a space heater to prevent nuisance trips and ensure safe operation.
- Living Room Lighting: Installed and supplied six can lights for bright, even illumination. Included a new switched outlet with a 3‑way dimmer between the front door and hallway for flexible control.
- Outdoor Lighting and Power: Added two new outdoor light points at the den doors and installed customer‑supplied fixtures. Installed two outdoor outlets by the sunroom—one switched from the den and one GFCI—as well as additional outlets at the front of the house per plans and an outlet on the right side of the sunroom.
- Hot Tub Disconnect: Installed and supplied a 220V, 60A disconnect to serve a hot tub near the sunroom location.
Room‑by‑room improvements
- Primary Bathroom: Installed five 4‑inch LED can lights, set three customer‑supplied vanity lights, and wired a customer‑supplied fan/light combo. Added power for a shower head system via a dedicated 120V circuit, low‑voltage run, and 12V transformer.
- Guest Bathroom: Installed three customer‑supplied fixtures (two sconces and one main light) and wired a customer‑supplied fan/light combo.
- Throughout the Home: Replaced devices and switches as part of the rewire, installed dimmers where specified, and verified GFCI protection in required locations.
Code compliance, permitting, and testing
Our licensed electricians coordinated permits, scheduled utility shutdowns as needed, and facilitated inspections. Upon completion, we tested all new and existing circuits, verified correct device polarity and grounding, balanced loads across panels, and labeled directories for easy future reference. The result is a safer, more reliable electrical system ready for present and future needs.
