Touchstone Electric’s Charlotte team completed a whole-home surge protection upgrade for Brian Chen in Charlotte, NC. On March 21, 2025, technician Christian Cedillos installed two whole-house surge protectors to defend the home’s electrical panel, wiring, and connected appliances from damaging voltage spikes.

Scope of work
We installed two whole-home surge protectors at the home’s electrical panel system. These devices continually monitor the incoming power and safely divert excess voltage to ground before it can reach sensitive circuits.

Warranty coverage
Each installed surge protector includes a 10-year, $100,000 equipment-protection warranty for covered home appliances and electrical components, in the unlikely event of device failure.
- Covered equipment includes: washer, dryer, refrigerator, freezer, HVAC unit located inside the house, trash compactor, dishwasher, garbage disposal, stove, home wiring, outlets/switches, and electrical system components (such as breakers), as well as hard-wired devices like built-in microwaves, furnace, air handlers, evaporator coils, hardwired ranges, landscape lighting, and home lighting—when protected with a properly connected surge protective device (SPD).
- Exclusions: security systems and medical equipment are not covered.
All claims are secondary to the homeowner’s existing insurance policy, and direct lightning strikes are excluded. Refer to the manufacturer’s terms for full details and claim procedures.
