Whole-Home Rewiring and 200A Panel Upgrade in Raleigh, NC
Touchstone Electric completed a comprehensive whole-home rewiring project for Daniel Lucas in Raleigh, NC on August 25, 2023. Led by our technician, Theo Coetsee, this project modernized the home’s electrical system with a new 200-amp service panel, whole-house surge protection, enhanced grounding, and dedicated circuits for today’s appliances and lighting. This Raleigh service was coordinated through our Charlotte branch to ensure smooth planning and execution.

Safety-First Upgrades for Peace of Mind
This whole-home rewire in Raleigh focused on safety, capacity, and convenience. The 200A panel provides ample room for dedicated kitchen appliance circuits and future additions, while the whole-house surge protector adds an extra layer of defense against transient voltage events. New GFCI-protected outlets were installed in locations where required to enhance protection against ground faults, and a robust grounding system supports safe operation and faster clearing of faults.
By organizing lighting and receptacle circuits thoughtfully, the home now benefits from fewer overloads, clearer labeling, and easier maintenance for years to come.
Careful Access, Clear Expectations
To replace concealed wiring cleanly, selective drywall access was required. Our team cut drywall only where necessary to route new conductors and devices. As part of the scope, Touchstone Electric is not responsible for drywall patching or painting following access work.
We also removed and reinstalled existing fixtures with care. Due to the age of certain fixtures, there is a risk of breakage when handling; accordingly, Touchstone Electric is not responsible for damage to aged or fragile fixtures.
Annual Home Safety Plan – GOLD
To keep the system performing at its best, the homeowner was enrolled in our Annual Home Safety Plan – GOLD, which includes:
- Smoke and CO detector checks
- Panel safety review
- Code update guidance
- Connection and device inspections
- Proactive recommendations to maintain reliability
Regular maintenance helps identify small issues before they become major problems and keeps the Raleigh home’s new electrical system running safely.
