Touchstone Electric’s Charlotte team, based out of our Matthews branch, completed a full whole-home rewiring and 200 amp service upgrade for homeowner Michelle Silvano in Charlotte, NC. Led by technician Ben Lively, the project was finished on March 30, 2025 and brought the home’s electrical system up to current code. All required permits, utility coordination, and final inspections were handled by our team.

Scope of Work Performed

Safely disconnected power to the home and removed outdated wiring from the panel.
Fished and installed new branch-circuit wiring, then reconnected all devices, outlets, and switches.
Installed SEU 4/0 service cable to support the 200A upgrade.
Added a balanced mix of breakers to match the home’s loads, including:
- 7 × 15A standard breakers for lighting and general-use circuits
- 3 × 20A standard breakers for small appliance circuits
- 1 × 20A double-pole breaker
- 3 × 40A standard breakers for larger equipment
- 1 × 50A standard breaker for high-demand appliances
Installed a dedicated GFCI-protected breaker circuit and two additional dedicated GFCI-protected outlets.
Added two exterior bubble covers for weatherproof outlet protection.
Completed final energization, system testing, and inspection sign-off.
