Touchstone Electric recently completed a washer and dryer outlet relocation and installation in Kannapolis, NC for Divine Restoration Group. On February 17, 2026, our technician Will Cruz moved the laundry hookups to the opposite side of the wall, added junction boxes to safely extend the existing circuits, installed a new standard receptacle, and ran new NM-B wiring to ensure a safe, reliable hookup.

Scope of Work and Materials Used
To relocate the laundry connections and maintain proper circuit integrity, we performed the following:
- Appliance installation — major: Set up the laundry connections for the customer-supplied equipment, including the appliance receptacle/hard-wiring as needed during one visit.
- Standard receptacle install: Added a new 120V outlet for the washer, complete with cover and secure mounting.
- Junction boxes for both circuits: Installed code-appropriate junction boxes at the original locations to transition and protect splices before extending to the new wall.
- New wiring runs: Pulled approximately 15 feet of NM-B 10/3 cable for the 30-amp, 240V dryer circuit and 15 feet of NM-B 12/2 cable for the 20-amp washer circuit.
- Testing and verification: Confirmed correct voltage, polarity, and continuity, and verified secure terminations for a dependable connection.
This approach allowed the laundry appliances to be repositioned without replacing the entire circuits, while maintaining safe connections and clear access to terminations.
