Professional walk-in tub electrical in Indian Land, SC
Our Charlotte branch based in Matthews completed a specialty installation for Re-Bath Charlotte in Indian Land, SC. Led by technician Mark Viktorovich, we provided code-compliant power for a heated walk-in tub with water and air jets, including new dedicated circuits and safety upgrades. The work was coordinated around the remodel schedule, starting with demo on June 10 and completed on June 11, 2025.
Project overview
This project required reliable, independent power for a walk-in tub that includes a heater, a water jet pump, and an air blower. To ensure safe operation and to meet electrical code, our team installed dedicated circuits specifically for the tub equipment, verified panel capacity, and completed final testing and labeling.
- Assessment of the existing electrical panel and load capacity
- Installation of at least two dedicated, GFCI-protected circuits sized to the manufacturer’s requirements
- Proper equipment grounding and bonding for wet-area safety
- Labeled disconnects and clear panel identification for future service
- Neat, protected cable routing to the tub location with secure terminations
- System testing of heater, water jets, and air jets under load
Why dedicated circuits matter for heated tubs
Walk-in and hydrotherapy tubs draw significant current, especially when running heaters and pumps together. Placing this equipment on shared household circuits can lead to nuisance tripping or, worse, safety hazards. Dedicated circuits help:
- Deliver full, stable power to each motor and the heater
- Reduce the risk of breaker trips when multiple fixtures operate
- Isolate equipment for safer maintenance and service
- Meet electrical code and manufacturer warranty requirements
For bathrooms and spa equipment, modern codes require GFCI protection and proper bonding. Our installation was designed to meet these requirements so the tub operates safely in a wet environment.
Code-compliant installation and inspection readiness
From load calculations to final labeling, our process is built for smooth inspections and long-term reliability. We verify conductor sizes, breaker ratings, GFCI placement, and bonding to metallic components in accordance with current code. All terminations are tightened to spec and circuits are identified clearly at the panel for future reference.
Coordination with remodeling schedules
Timing matters during a bathroom remodel. We coordinated with Re-Bath Charlotte to align electrical rough-in and final connections right after demo on June 10, minimizing downtime and keeping the project on track. The result is a clean, organized installation ready for finish work and final handoff.
