Bathroom Lighting, Ventilation, and GFCI Circuit in Morganton, NC
On June 22, 2026, Touchstone Electric’s Charlotte branch (based in Matthews) completed a permitted, code-compliant bathroom upgrade for Re-Bath Charlotte in Morganton, NC. Our licensed electricians — Mark Alaev, Frank Fragale, and Aaron Smith — installed new vanity lighting, exhaust fan-light combinations, and a dedicated 20A GFCI-protected circuit for the tub.
- Installed two customer-supplied vanity lights on existing boxes/circuits
- Installed two bath exhaust fan-light combination fixtures
- Added a dedicated 20A GFCI-protected tub circuit with a short run of 1/2-inch PVC conduit
- Pulled and closed out the county electrical permit for the scope of electrical work
Permitted, Code-Compliant Wiring
All work was performed to current electrical code and inspected under a county Electrical Permit. The new tub circuit is protected by a 20A GFCI breaker and clearly dedicated to that load. Our team used NM-B 12/2 cable where appropriate inside finished spaces and transitioned to THHN #12 conductors in 1/2-inch PVC conduit for the short exposed run, ensuring a clean, durable, and compliant pathway.
We also installed a properly mounted receptacle on the dedicated circuit and verified correct polarity, grounding, and GFCI functionality before finalizing the job. The exhaust fan-light combos were wired to existing switched circuits and tested for quiet operation and effective ventilation. Any ducting connections for the fans were handled by others per the project scope.
What We Installed
- (2) Exhaust fan-light combo fixtures — Installed and wired to existing controls for lighting and ventilation.
- (2) Vanity lights — Customer-supplied fixtures mounted on existing junction boxes with neat, secure terminations.
- 20A GFCI protection — New GFCI breaker installed for enhanced safety around water.
- NM-B 12/2 cable — For interior runs on the new 20A circuit.
- THHN #12 conductors in 1/2-inch PVC conduit — For the small conduit section where a protected raceway was required.
- Standard receptacle — Installed on the dedicated circuit and labeled for clarity.
- Electrical Permit — Filed with the county for inspection and compliance.
Note: This project included only the electrical permit. If a jurisdiction requires additional non-electrical permits (e.g., zoning or historic), those are separate from our electrical scope.
