Tesla Wall Connector Level 2 Installation in Charlotte, NC
On January 31, 2025, Touchstone Electric’s Charlotte team completed a professional Level 2 Tesla Wall Connector installation for homeowner John Flinn in Charlotte, NC. The charger was mounted on the back wall of the garage near the center to maximize cable reach and everyday convenience.

What We Installed
- Tesla Wall Connector installation (customer-supplied EV charging equipment), mounted securely on the garage wall with proper clearances.
- Dedicated 60A breaker added to the service panel for reliable Level 2 charging performance.
- Approximately 40 ft of #6 SEU (3-wire) conductor to supply the EV charging equipment on a correctly sized circuit.
- Approximately 10 ft of 3/4 in. EMT conduit with appropriate supports, connectors, and LBs for a tidy, durable surface run.
- Electrical permit filed with the county for code-compliant installation and inspection.
- Reused existing conduit where safe and code-compliant to reduce new materials and maintain a clean look.
How We Did It
Our electricians evaluated the garage layout and centered the Wall Connector on the back wall for convenient access to the vehicle’s charge port. A 60-amp dedicated circuit was installed to serve the Level 2 EV charger, with labeling in the panel to clearly identify the circuit.
The team ran #6 SEU conductors for the required ampacity and installed 3/4 in. EMT conduit to protect and organize the wiring where exposed. We reused existing raceway components where possible and safe, minimizing wall penetrations and preserving the garage’s appearance. All terminations were made per manufacturer specifications and best practices for a long-lasting, dependable setup.
Code Compliance and Safety
Touchstone Electric completes EV charging work to current electrical code requirements and manufacturer guidelines. The circuit was appropriately sized, components were properly supported, and grounding/bonding was verified. An electrical permit was obtained for this project in Charlotte, NC, and we coordinated the work to be ready for inspection.

This project included the electrical permit only. If a job requires other permits—such as Historic Preservation, Environmental/Septic, Zoning, Builder, or other non-electrical permits—those are not included. If additional permits are required, we will advise you on next steps and can provide pricing to process non-electrical permits when needed.
