Project Overview
The homeowner, Patti Easterly, wanted a professional, long‑lasting installation for a customer‑supplied Tesla Wall Connector. Our scope included running a new feeder from the main electrical panel, traveling through the crawlspace and transitioning outdoors to the garage. We focused on a neat path, secure supports, and weatherproof measures wherever the wiring was exposed to the elements.
What We Installed
- 60A GFCI Breaker (Dedicated EV Circuit): A code‑compliant, GFCI‑protected breaker sized for the Tesla Wall Connector, providing robust protection on a dedicated branch circuit.
- Tesla Wall Connector (Customer-Supplied): Professionally mounted and hard‑wired per manufacturer guidelines during a single visit.
- SEU #6 Copper Feeder (Approx. 90 ft): Three‑wire #6 SEU routed through the crawlspace with proper supports and protected transitions at penetrations.
- 1‑1/2" PVC Conduit (Approx. 25 ft): Exterior portions enclosed in PVC with fittings, LBs, and straps for a durable, weather‑resistant run to the garage.
- Electrical Permit: We filed the electrical permit with the county to ensure the work follows local code and inspection requirements.
- UF Cable Correction: Rerouted a previously mis‑run UF cable into the crawlspace to meet routing best practices and improve long‑term reliability.
- Weather-Resistant GFCI Outlet + In‑Use Bubble Cover: Installed a GFCI receptacle with a protective in‑use cover to help safeguard the outlet in all weather conditions.
- Termination of Old Meter Base Conductors: Safely terminated legacy wiring associated with an old meter base to leave the system orderly and secure.
Code Compliance and Attention to Detail
Every connection was torqued to spec, penetrations were sealed, and the new circuit was clearly labeled. GFCI protection, proper conductor sizing, and secure mechanical support were prioritized from start to finish. With the electrical permit on file, the homeowner benefits from documented, code‑compliant work that’s ready for inspection per local requirements.
