After a fallen tree damaged the home’s service equipment and interior wiring, our licensed electricians rebuilt approximately 300 square feet of rough electrical, replaced the meter base, installed a new 200-amp main service panel, added whole-home surge protection, and finished with two wafer-style can lights and a new kitchen outlet.

This project was coordinated with Servpro - Spartanburg County (MP Restoration LLC) to ensure a fast, safe return to service and to meet all inspection requirements.

Scope of Work: Meter Base & 200A Panel Upgrade

Technicians Tyler Harris and Viktor Opalko led the restoration, bringing the electrical system up to current code and preparing the home for reliable everyday use and future load needs. Our work included:

• New 200A meter base and service with conduit, riser, and service-entrance cable to the weatherhead and drip loop.
• New 40/80-space 200A main panel, including the feeder from meter to panel, main breaker disconnect, and clear panel labeling for every circuit.
• Upgraded grounding system with two ground rods and a grounding electrode conductor from the meter for better fault protection.
• Whole-home surge protection installed in accordance with NEC 2020 to help guard sensitive electronics and appliances.
• Interlinked smoke detector wiring to ensure alarms communicate throughout the home.
• Dedicated appliance and equipment circuits for HVAC, disposal, dishwasher, range, cooktop, microwave, and dryer.
• Kitchen and living-area power with two required 20A small-appliance branch circuits, AFCI protection for lighting, and GFCI protection at countertops.
• 20A GFCI circuits for laundry and bathrooms, plus a 20A dining room circuit.
• Bathroom ventilation fan power and all boxes landed per plans.
• Rebuilt rough wiring (approx. 300 sq ft) to stamped plans and the current NEC.
• Finish items including two wafer-style can lights and one new kitchen outlet.
• Permitting and inspections coordinated to ensure compliance and timely approval.
