Touchstone Electric completed a new-build trim-out for Home Life Construction, Inc. in Cedar Mountain, NC on November 21, 2025. Our Asheville team handled final device installation, life-safety protection, and appliance hookups to bring the project from rough-in approval to ready for final inspection.

Scope of work delivered
After the rough inspection passed, we returned to complete trim and final connections in line with the construction plans and local code requirements. The work included:
- Installed and supplied smoke detectors at the locations shown on the plans. Carbon monoxide protection is supported as specified for the build; combo devices are available on request for future phases.
- Connected bath and utility vent fans (ducting provided by others) and verified proper power and switching.
- Installed outdoor and equipment disconnects for HVAC and other major appliances to meet safety and serviceability requirements.
- Hooked up customer-supplied appliances as needed: disposal, dishwasher, range, cooktop, microwave, washer, and dryer.
- Set fixtures per plan and energized devices; lighting fixtures were supplied by the customer.
- Doorbell and chime excluded from the project scope per the contract.
- Change orders required for any additions beyond the original equipment schedule.
- Project closeout included coordination for final inspection and collection of the outstanding balance after approval.
Safety-first installation and code compliance
Life-safety devices and final connections were completed to meet plan specifications and applicable electrical codes for new construction in North Carolina. Interconnected, properly located smoke alarms help ensure whole-home notification.
