What We Installed
- 40A Level 2 EV charging outlet for a customer-supplied EV charger (EVSE), providing fast, reliable home charging.
- 3/4-inch EMT conduit installed along the wall, secured with proper supports, fittings, and LBs for a durable, professional finish.
- THHN #8 conductors pulled to support a 40-amp circuit per application needs.
- New 40A breaker installed in the service panel to power the dedicated EV circuit.
- Appliance receptacle connection for the charger plug, with terminations torqued and labeled.
- Electrical permit filed with the county and inspection coordination handled by our team.
This setup offers a dependable Level 2 charging solution designed for daily EV use, all while protecting the wiring and devices with a dedicated breaker and professionally routed conduit.
Code-Compliant and Inspection-Ready
Our electricians adhere to current electrical code and local utility requirements. For this Charlotte project, we:
- Mounted EMT conduit cleanly along the wall for safe, visible routing.
- Ensured proper conductor sizing and terminations for a 40-amp circuit.
- Labeled the new breaker and outlet for clear identification.
- Performed functional checks to verify correct voltage, polarity, and grounding.
All work was permitted and prepared for inspection, simplifying the homeowner’s path to a safe and approved installation.
Duke Energy EV Rebate–Ready
We structured this installation to align with Duke Energy’s EV rebate program. Our team provided the documentation typically needed to help the homeowner pursue available incentives. While program terms can change, our process includes detailed materials and labor records and a permitted scope that matches common rebate expectations.
Note: Jurisdictions may require permits beyond the standard electrical permit (such as zoning or historic). If non-electrical permits are needed, we advise the homeowner on next steps and can assist with additional processing for those separate permits.
