Raleigh Lighting Installation, Dimmer & Bidet GFCI Circuit Upgrade

On April 15, 2025, our Raleigh team completed a multi-part electrical project for Dean Talbert. Led by technician Brad Williams, the job included new wiring for halo lights with a wall dimmer, a dedicated 20A GFCI-protected circuit for a bathroom bidet, and several high-ceiling fixture installations. Project overview

Ran new cabling for halo lights into the attic and down the wall to a new switch location.
Installed a compatible dimmer switch to provide smooth, adjustable lighting.
Added a dedicated 20-amp circuit from the main panel to the bathroom for a bidet outlet, including a GFCI receptacle and a new 20A breaker.
Completed six difficult fixture installs on high ceilings (approximately 14–18 feet), requiring a two-person crew and an oversized ladder.

Fishing techniques were used to route conductors through tight spaces. Where access required small openings, a drywall patch credit was applied on the invoice.

Halo lights and dimmer installation

Our team routed new wiring into the attic and down the wall to a clean switch location, then installed a new dimmer designed for the lighting load. This setup lets the homeowner tune brightness for comfort and energy savings while keeping the wall layout neat and intuitive.

Dedicated 20A GFCI circuit for bathroom bidet

For reliable bidet performance and safety, we ran a dedicated 20-amp circuit from the outside main panel to the bathroom. The circuit includes a new 20A breaker and a properly installed GFCI outlet to provide the required ground-fault protection in a wet location. Using NM-B 12/2 cable for the branch circuit ensures the correct ampacity for this higher-demand device.

High-ceiling fixture installations

We installed six customer-supplied fixtures on existing boxes and circuits in areas with tall ceilings. Due to the 14–18 ft working heights, the crew utilized an oversized ladder and a two-person lift approach for precision and safety. The result is secure mounting, clean wiring, and fixtures positioned exactly as intended.

Materials and methods used

NM-B 14/2 cable for lighting runs and switch legs to the halo lights.
NM-B 12/2 cable for the new 20A bathroom circuit.
GFCI receptacle with a proper cover for bathroom protection.
Standard 20A breaker added at the main panel for the dedicated bidet circuit.
Fishing wire techniques to navigate hard-to-reach areas with minimal wall impact.
Additional wireman support to assist with high-ceiling work and ladder safety.
