Level 2 EV Charger Installation in Raleigh Permitted for Duke Energy Rebate

Our Raleigh team installed a customer-supplied Level 2 EV charger on a dedicated 240V circuit, configured to meet Duke Energy rebate requirements. This project included permitting, a new 60-amp breaker, a long feeder run, and a clean, durable conduit transition to the charger location—designed for reliable, fast charging at home or workplace.

What We Installed

  • Dedicated 60A circuit with a new 60-amp breaker for robust Level 2 charging capacity.
  • 70 ft of #6 SEU cable to safely carry the 60A load from the panel to the charger location.
  • 1-inch liquid-tight flexible conduit (10 ft) for a weather-resistant, professional transition and equipment connection.
  • Customer-supplied Level 2 EV charger hardwired for dependable performance and a neat finish.
  • Permitting completed to align with Duke Energy rebate guidelines in Raleigh.

This setup provides faster charging than standard 120V options, supports many modern EVs and plug-in hybrids, and is built for future-ready capacity on a 60-amp circuit.

Why a 60-Amp Level 2 Circuit?

Many EV chargers are optimized for a 60A feed, giving the charger ample overhead to deliver higher continuous charging rates while maintaining safety and compliance. With a 70-foot feeder run, #6 SEU wiring ensures low voltage drop and dependable performance. The liquid-tight conduit protects conductors where exposure or movement could occur, maintaining a long-lasting installation in Raleigh’s climate.
