Pool, Hot Tub & Landscape Electrical in Belmont, NC

Touchstone Electric’s Charlotte team, based out of Matthews, completed a comprehensive outdoor electrical project in Belmont for Ivy Creek Pools. Finished on June 14, 2024, this specialty installation brought safe, reliable power to a new hot tub, pool equipment, lighting, and a water feature—integrated for easy control and long-term performance.

Power for the pool house was provided on a separate meter by another company. Our role was to pull from that service to feed a dedicated subpanel at the pool equipment location (enclosed by three walls), install a Jandy automation panel, and deliver properly protected circuits for all pool, spa, and landscape components.

What We Installed

  • Subpanel at pool equipment: Fed from the pool house service provided by others, supplying all new pool and landscape loads.
  • Jandy equipment/automation panel: Set and wired for coordinated control of pool systems, including AquaLink.
  • 50A GFCI spa circuit: Installed a GFCI-protected 50-amp circuit and mounted the manufacturer-supplied hot tub disconnect at the patio.
  • Pool light transformer (120V): Wired to support six pool lights for balanced, low-voltage illumination.
  • Pool circulation pump (240V): Dedicated power for efficient, reliable operation.
  • Salt generator (120V): Power and integration for simplified water care.
  • AquaLink automation (120V): Power and controls connected for streamlined pool equipment management.
  • Water feature pump (120V): Separate circuit for dependable performance.
  • Landscape lighting (120V): Wired customer-supplied fixtures using approximately 150 feet of lighting feeder for even coverage.
  • Spare GFCI receptacle: Weather-resistant in-use bubble cover for safe, convenient outdoor power.

Coordination, Safety, and Code Compliance

The customer provided trenching and ran conduit; our team completed terminations, panel make-up, and equipment connections. We ensured all outdoor components were installed with wet-location fittings and GFCI protection where required.

  • Trenching and conduit: By customer; Touchstone Electric completed all wiring, terminations, and testing.
  • Bonding: Pool bonding and the bonding halo were completed by another company. We coordinated proper grounding and equipment connections at the pool pad.
  • Labeling and testing: Circuits labeled for clarity, equipment tested for correct operation, and controls verified.

Lead technician Brian Cain oversaw the installation to deliver a clean layout, safe power distribution, and dependable startup for the entire outdoor system.

This Belmont, NC property now benefits from a neatly organized subpanel and Jandy automation, reliable 240V and 120V equipment feeds, and thoughtfully wired pool and landscape lighting. The hot tub has a dedicated 50A GFCI circuit and a proper disconnect, while the pool lights, water feature, and yard lighting are powered and protected for everyday use.
