Project overview

Touchstone Electric completed a code-compliant pool electrical installation in Fort Mill, SC for Ivy Creek Pools. Led by technician Chris Rogers from our Charlotte branch (Matthews), the scope centered on a dedicated pool subpanel, a 60A feeder, and safe, manufacturer-guided hookups for critical equipment. The work was permitted and inspected, and the finished system provides reliable power and GFCI protection for the pool environment.

Completion date: February 24, 2026

Following the project, Ivy Creek Pools shared positive feedback about the installation quality and coordination.

What we installed

  • Pool Control Panel (customer supplied): Installed at the equipment area and integrated with the home’s main panel. Includes the code-required receptacle at the pad and the main-panel breaker. Permit and inspections were included in the scope.
  • 60 ft 6/3 NM-B feeder: Routed from the home to the pool subpanel to provide a dedicated 240V supply for pool equipment. Protected by the appropriate overcurrent device at the main panel.
  • Equipment hookups: Power and controls from the pool subpanel to each device, completed per manufacturer diagrams and best practices.

Protected circuits and breakers

To meet safety and code requirements around water, we installed GFCI protection where required and clearly labeled each circuit:

  • 60A Double-Pole Eaton CH — Feeder to the pool subpanel
  • 20A Double-Pole GFCI — Pool pump
  • Two 15A Double-Pole GFCIs — Heater and blower
  • 20A Single-Pole GFCI — Low-voltage transformer for pool lights
  • 15A Single-Pole — PDA/control circuit

Equipment connected from the panel:

  • Pump
  • Heater
  • Blower
  • Transformer (for pool lighting)

Safety, code, and coordination

Pool environments demand attention to detail. Our team installed GFCI protection on wet-location circuits, provided the code-required receptacle at the equipment area, and used manufacturer specifications for each hookup to ensure proper operation.

Scope clarity: Ivy Creek Pools handled pulling all pool light conductors to the junction box, while Touchstone Electric managed the panel installation, feeder, breakers, and final equipment terminations. This coordination kept the schedule tight and responsibilities clear.
