Pool Electrical Panel and Equipment Hookups in Fletcher, NC
Touchstone Electric’s Asheville team, operating from our Hendersonville branch, completed a specialty pool and hot tub electrical project in Fletcher, NC for Signature Luxury Pools. Led by technician Chris Rogers, this job delivered a safe, code-compliant pool control system with clean, professional terminations and dependable power to all critical equipment. Completed in May 2026, the project showcases our precise workmanship and coordination with the pool builder to keep the timeline on track.
Scope of Work
We provided a full setup from the main panel to the pool control panel and out to each piece of equipment, ensuring everything operates correctly per manufacturer specifications and current electrical code.
- Pool control panel installation with a code-required receptacle and properly sized breakers at the main panel. We obtained the electrical permit and verified labeling for clarity and future service.
- Equipment hookups (3) from the pool control panel, including:
- Electric heater
- Pool pump
- Transformer for pool lights (wired per low-voltage relay and manufacturer diagram requirements)
- Breakers installed and accommodated:
- 60-amp GFCI double-pole for high-demand pool equipment
- Two 20-amp single-pole breakers
- One 15-amp single-pole breaker
- Provisions for a customer-supplied 20-amp GFCI double-pole breaker
- Wiring:
- #6 stranded conductors serving the electric heater
- #12 stranded conductors for a dedicated outdoor gas grill outlet (approximately 100 feet)
- GFCI receptacles installed with weather-resistant covers at required locations.
- Fishing wire through hard-to-reach areas to minimize disturbance to finished surfaces and landscaping.
Coordination With the Pool Builder
Signature Luxury Pools handled all trenching and provided the necessary conduit. Our team coordinated placement and depth, then pulled conductors, made terminations, and verified protection and support to meet code. This collaboration helped streamline the installation and kept the site clean and organized.
Code Compliance and Safety
Pool environments demand meticulous attention to protection and grounding methods. We installed a 60-amp GFCI breaker for the high-load equipment, provided GFCI-protected receptacles where required, and followed manufacturer diagrams for the pump, heater, and lighting transformer. The control panel includes a code-required service receptacle at the equipment area, proper labeling, and clear circuit identification to support safe operation and future maintenance.
All work was performed to current NEC requirements and passed inspection under the electrical permit included with this project.
Dedicated Circuit for Outdoor Gas Grill
To support the homeowner’s outdoor kitchen plans, we ran approximately 100 feet of #12 THHN conductors from a detached garage panel to a GFCI-protected receptacle for the gas grill. The dedicated 20-amp circuit ensures reliable power and compliance with outdoor and weatherproofing standards.
Results and Client Feedback
The system was energized, tested, and labeled, with smooth operation across the electric heater, pool pump, and lighting transformer. Signature Luxury Pools praised our professionalism and organization in their review, noting the clean installation and straightforward coordination with their team.
