Project overview in Monroe, NC

Touchstone Electric completed a comprehensive pool electrical installation in Monroe, NC for Ivy Creek Pools, serving them from our Matthews-based Charlotte branch. Led by technicians Ash Ashirin and Chris Rogers, this specialty pool and hot tub electrical project was finished on June 4, 2026 and included a new control panel on a dedicated post, safe equipment hookups, GFCI protection, a transformer for lighting, and four pool lights.

The result is a clean, code-conscious setup tailored for reliability, safety, and ease of service around the pool equipment area.

Scope of work and installed components

  • Pool control panel on post: Mounted on a wood post set in concrete for stable, long-term support and clear labeling for future maintenance.
  • Equipment hookups: Dedicated connections from the pool control panel to the pump, the gas heater, and additional pool equipment as specified by the manufacturer diagrams.
  • Feeder conductors: #6 stranded THHN feeder to supply the pool control panel from the home’s main panel.
  • Lighting transformer: Installed transformer to step down power for the low-voltage pool lighting system.
  • Pool lights (4): Integrated with the transformer and grounded conductors, aligned with stubbed conduit provided at the equipment pad.
  • GFCI-protected receptacle with bubble cover: Code-required outdoor outlet near the equipment with an in-use weatherproof cover.
  • Breakers installed:
    • 60A Double-Pole Eaton CH
    • 20A Double-Pole GFCI
    • 15A Double-Pole GFCI (two)
    • 15A Single-Pole GFCI
    • 20A Single-Pole (standard)

We also provided an electrical helper on site to streamline conduit terminations, labeling, and verification testing for each circuit and relay.

Code-conscious pool electrical in Monroe

Pool environments require special attention to safety. Our team implemented GFCI protection for equipment and receptacles, installed an in-use bubble cover outdoors, and used a dedicated transformer for low-voltage lighting. These measures help reduce shock risk and align with current electrical code requirements for wet locations.

Permitting and inspections were coordinated as part of the control panel installation, ensuring the system was reviewed and approved by local authorities in Monroe, NC.

Coordination with the builder

Ivy Creek Pools handled all trenching and installed 1-inch conduit with a stub-up to the equipment area. Our crew coordinated terminations at both ends, pulled conductors, and completed hookups according to the manufacturer diagrams. This approach keeps the project efficient while maintaining a neat, serviceable layout around the equipment pad.
