Touchstone Electric’s Charlotte team, based out of our Matthews branch, completed a comprehensive Lighting & Ceiling Fans project for Kitchen Tune-Up (CLT) in Huntersville. On 2024-06-13, technician Ben Lively removed an existing light, installed new pendants and wafer can lights, mounted a ceiling fan, added outlets, performed electrical cleanup, and restored a cooktop circuit to 240V with a dedicated breaker. This job blended Lighting Installation expertise with important safety and power upgrades to support the customer’s current kitchen layout and appliance needs.
What we installed
- Three pendant lights: Removed an existing fixture and installed 3 customer-supplied pendants for focused task and design-forward lighting.
- Four wafer can lights: Low-profile LED wafer cans to brighten work areas without requiring deep ceiling space.
- Ceiling fan installation: Mounted a customer-supplied fan on an existing box/circuit to improve comfort and airflow.
- GFCI protection: Added 2 GFCI receptacles to enhance safety where water and electricity may meet.
- General-use power: Installed 8 standard receptacles to serve appliances and everyday needs.
- Electrical cleanup: Verified proper terminations, removed abandoned wiring, and ensured all connections were safe and code-conscious.
- Cooktop power restored to 240V: Reverted a previously converted circuit back to 240V for the customer’s electric cooktop plan.
- Panel upgrade for appliance support: Installed a 40A breaker aligned with the cooktop’s power requirements.
- Major appliance hook-up: Completed the cooktop connection (receptacle or hardwire as appropriate).
- Targeted wiring: Pulled approximately 12 feet of NM-B 14/2 to complete lighting and receptacle placements cleanly.
