Touchstone Electric’s Charlotte team completed a comprehensive panel rejuvenation and safety-focused upgrades for homeowner Brier Bostrom in Charlotte, NC. Led by technician Cody Moyers from our Matthews-based Charlotte branch, this project delivered safer, more reliable, and code-conscious power for the home on April 24, 2024.

What We Completed
- Dedicated GFCI Circuit Install (120V, 15/20A): We evaluated panel capacity and installed a new dedicated, GFCI-protected 120V circuit. - New Ground Rod Installation: We installed ground rod(s) and connected a properly sized grounding electrode conductor to the main service panel using listed clamps and secure terminations. Robust grounding supports overcurrent device performance and helps stabilize the home’s electrical system.
- Crawl Space Wiring Tune-Up: We re-hung and secured wiring in the crawl space to keep conductors supported, organized, and out of harm’s way, reducing the risk of abrasion, sagging, or accidental damage.
- Panel Rejuvenation: We cleaned the panel interior, tightened lugs and bus connections, verified ground and neutral separation with one conductor per lug, and inspected for water intrusion. Openings were sealed, correct service voltage was confirmed, antioxidant was applied where needed, and AFCI/GFCI functionality was tested with homeowner consent.
- Annual Home Safety Membership – Gold: We enrolled the home for routine safety checks that include smoke/CO detector review, panel safety verification, inspections for loose or deteriorated connections, and updates aligned with current electrical safety best practices.
