Kitchen Outlet Relocations and Under-Cabinet Lighting in Charlotte, NC
On May 19, 2025, the Touchstone Electric Charlotte team (based out of our Matthews branch) completed a set of kitchen electrical upgrades for Huntington Builders in Charlotte, NC. Lead technician Viktor Opalko handled the outlet relocations, sink receptacle move, and the new switch/outlet setup for under-cabinet LED lighting. This project falls under our Outlets & Switches and Outlet Installation & Repair services.
Scope of Work Completed
- Repositioned countertop receptacles: Moved two counter receptacles lower and rotated them horizontally to align neatly above the countertop, improving accessibility and aesthetics for everyday appliance use.
- Relocated sink receptacle: Shifted a receptacle from the middle of the sink area to under the counter to serve a drawer receptacle, creating a cleaner backsplash and a safer, more convenient charging/storage zone.
- Under-cabinet lighting power and control: Added a power box with a dedicated switch and outlet to support under-cabinet LED lights, providing task lighting right where it’s needed.
- Wire fishing through finished areas: Carefully fished approximately 25 feet of wire through hard-to-reach spaces to minimize wall and backsplash disturbance during the remodel.
- New circuit conductors installed: Ran about 40 feet of MC 12/2 conductors to support appropriate 20-amp circuits for the new configurations.
These upgrades were planned to complement the kitchen’s layout and finishes while setting up reliable power for lighting and convenient appliance use.
