Outlet Installs & Low-Voltage Garage Door Wiring in Concord, NC

Touchstone Electric completed a residential upgrade in Concord, NC for Urvesh & Ekta Patel, adding convenient power where it’s needed most and preparing reliable low-voltage connections for garage door safety sensors. This project was handled by our Charlotte team out of the Matthews branch and completed by technician Will Cruz on March 16, 2026.

What We Completed

  • Bedroom closet outlets: Installed two standard receptacles in an upstairs bedroom closet for tidy, accessible power (perfect for vacuums, charging stations, or smart-home hubs).
  • Kids’ bathroom cabinet outlets: Installed two outlets inside an upstairs bathroom cabinet to keep countertop clutter down and provide safe, hidden charging/power for small devices.
  • Garage door low-voltage wiring: Ran low-voltage cabling for three garage door safety sensors and the opener, supporting clean, dependable signal paths for monitoring and operation.

Materials utilized: 4 standard receptacles; approximately 15 feet of 12/2 NM-B cable; and roughly 200 feet of plenum-rated 18/4 low-voltage cable for sensor runs.

Why These Upgrades Make a Difference

  • Cleaner spaces: Closet and cabinet outlets reduce visible cords and free up countertops.
  • Everyday convenience: Power where you need it for grooming tools, toothbrush chargers, night-lights, or vacuum stations.
  • Safety and performance: Properly routed low-voltage wiring supports accurate garage door sensor operation and helps maintain neat, serviceable runs.

Quality and Code Considerations

For outlet and switch projects, our approach emphasizes safe routing, secure terminations, and placement that respects cabinet and closet clearances. In bathrooms and sleeping areas, we account for applicable GFCI/AFCI and spacing requirements, and we maintain separation between line-voltage and low-voltage conductors as required. Using plenum-rated cable for low-voltage sensor wiring helps meet stringent pathway needs in appropriate areas while supporting long, clean runs.

If you’re planning additional outlets or garage door sensor upgrades in Concord, NC, our licensed team can help evaluate the best locations, wiring paths, and protection methods for a durable, code-conscious result.
