Project overview
Our Charlotte branch completed a multi-part lighting and controls project for Walsh Crawl Space & Structural Repair at a residence in Charlotte, NC. The work wrapped up on August 31, 2026, and included interior and exterior lighting installation, ceiling fan placement, smart switch upgrades, fixture troubleshooting, and a chandelier box conversion.

Scope of work completed
- Interior and exterior fixture installation: Finished hanging multiple new lights, including island lighting in the kitchen and an exterior bath light for improved visibility.
- Upstairs ensuite ceiling fan: Hung a new fan to enhance air circulation and year-round comfort.
- Smart switch upgrades: Installed select smart switches to modernize control and support future home automation.
- Chandelier conversion: Converted a second-story exterior can light to a chandelier-rated electrical box and safely mounted a new exterior chandelier for elevated curb appeal.
- Low-voltage and device changes: Moved Ethernet as requested and removed specified outlets on the addition’s left wall.
Diagnostics and corrections
- Dining room chandelier power: Troubleshot the switching and power to the dining chandelier. The existing fixture was found not operating; we verified circuit conditions and provided guidance for restoring proper function.
- Exterior garage sconces control: Assessed the left-side garage sconces and evaluated the associated smart switch inside the garage, including neutral connection and wiring integrity, to ensure reliable on/off control.
- Bonus room lighting issue: Addressed an “always hot” condition affecting two lights over the left-side garage by correcting the wiring so the fixtures respond properly to their controls.
All work was performed to support safe, dependable operation and clean, code-conscious workmanship.
