Touchstone Electric’s Matthews branch (Charlotte team) completed a comprehensive lighting and electrical upgrade for LACE Construction in Indian Trail, NC. On February 17, 2026, our technicians Theo Coetsee and Robert Sloan modernized multiple spaces with efficient recessed wafer lighting, new fixtures, code-compliant outlets, dedicated outdoor circuits, and smart switching solutions.
This job combined lighting installation with safety and usability upgrades to bring the property up to today’s standards and support future needs.
What we installed and upgraded
- 17 recessed wafer can lights installed across the home:
- Office: 6 new 6-inch wafers
- Living room: 4 wafers
- Primary bedroom: 4 wafers
- Primary bathroom: 3 wafers
- Customer-supplied fixtures installed in the laundry room, garage, and four ceiling fan/light locations.
- Guest bathroom vanity light installed and wired.
- Switching improvements: two new dimmer switches; repaired a 3-way switch in the kitchen; and relocated a light switch to accommodate a new room opening.
- Outlet and wiring updates to NEC 2020: standard receptacles installed, a dedicated TV outlet added, and a make-up drawer outlet provided.
- Two dedicated 20A outdoor circuits: GFCI-protected 20-amp breakers added for safe, reliable future exterior power.
- New wiring as needed: NM-B Romex 12/2 for 20A circuits and NM-B Romex 14/2 for lighting runs.
The result is brighter, more functional spaces with improved control, better power distribution, and readiness for future outdoor projects and equipment.
Code, safety, and reliability
All work was performed to current NEC 2020 standards, including GFCI protection for exterior-use circuits and proper wire sizing for each application. Our team ensured solid connections, clean terminations, and correct device selection to help reduce maintenance and nuisance trips while boosting overall electrical safety.
