About this Level 2 EV Charger Upgrade

Our team removed the existing charger and installed an upgraded Level 2 unit with a new, properly sized circuit to match the manufacturer’s specifications. The new setup is designed for dependable daily charging while protecting the home’s electrical system and the vehicle’s onboard charger.

What We Installed

Charger upgrade: Replaced the legacy unit with a customer-supplied Level 2 EV charger and completed a full start-up and commissioning.
Dedicated 60A breaker: Installed a correctly rated breaker in the main service panel for consistent performance and headroom.
New conductors: Pulled THHN #4 copper conductors for a robust, low-resistance feeder to the charger location.
Protected raceway: Ran approximately 1-inch PVC conduit for a neat, durable, and code-compliant pathway.
Electrical permit: Filed and closed the county electrical permit for code-compliant installation and inspection.
Appliance integration: Properly hard-wired or connected the charger per listing and manufacturer guidelines.

Every connection was torque-verified, labeling was updated, and the charger was function-tested under load to confirm safe operation.

Permitting and Code Compliance

We secured the required electrical permit and completed the installation to current electrical code and local requirements in Charlotte, NC. If a future project requires non-electrical permits (for example, historic, environmental, or zoning approvals), those are handled separately; our team can advise you on next steps to keep your project moving smoothly.

Duke Energy EV Rebate Assistance
