Level 2 EV Charger Installation with Permit in Charlotte, NC

Touchstone Electric recently completed a clean, code-compliant Level 2 EV charger installation for homeowner Bimal Patel on Armstrong Park Dr in Charlotte, NC 28277. Performed by technician Mark Alaev from our Matthews branch, this garage installation was finalized on June 29, 2026 and included a county-filed electrical permit for a smooth, inspection-ready result.

During planning, the charger location was updated. After reviewing options, we moved forward with the layout placed closer to the main panel, minimizing wire length and creating a tidy, efficient run that looks great and performs reliably.

What We Installed

Dedicated 240V circuit with a 50 amp standard breaker sized for Level 2 EV charging.
Approximately 20 feet of #6 SEU (3-wire) cable to supply the new circuit to the garage location.
Customer-supplied Level 2 EV charger professionally connected and commissioned during the same visit.
County electrical permit secured and documented for a compliant installation and inspection process.

The finished setup delivers dependable Level 2 charging performance, shortens charge times compared to standard 120V outlets, and keeps the garage organized with a practical, near-panel layout.

Permitting and Code Compliance
