Touchstone Electric’s Raleigh team completed a professional Level 2 EV charger installation in Durham for Duke Energy - Allumia. The customer provided the charger, and our licensed electricians delivered a turnkey solution that included a new 60A breaker, dedicated wiring, and clean conduit runs to get the station powered safely and reliably. We also handled permitting and coordinated the Duke Energy EV charger rebate requirements.

Completed on 07/13/2026 by technicians Gray Gorrell and Cody Perry, this project was designed around performance, safety, and rebate compliance—so the customer could start charging confidently and take advantage of utility incentives.

What We Installed and How We Ran It

Dedicated 60A breaker added at the electrical panel to support the customer’s Level 2 charger.
New SEU #6 (3-wire) feeder run for the charger’s 60A circuit, providing robust capacity for Level 2 charging.
3/4" PVC conduit for the majority of the run to protect conductors and keep the route tidy and durable.
3/4" liquid-tight/flex conduit at the equipment connection for vibration resistance and weather protection where needed.
Charger hardwired per manufacturer guidance, with secure terminations and proper labeling.

After installation, our team verified breaker sizing, inspected conductor terminations, and tested the charging equipment to confirm proper operation.
