Led by technician Chris Rogers, this project delivered a dedicated 60-amp circuit to power a customer-supplied Level 2 charger—installed with a permit and set up to qualify for the Duke Energy EV rebate. Completed on August 14, 2026, the job was handled by our Charlotte branch based in Matthews and serves as a great example of safe, efficient home EV charging done right.
What We Installed
- 60A Square D breaker added to the customer’s panel to provide a dedicated charging circuit.
- #6 stranded conductors (approximately 25 ft) sized for a 60-amp EV charging load.
- #6 SEU cable (approximately 10 ft) to complete the run as needed for the final connection.
- 3/4" PVC conduit (approximately 25 ft) with fittings and supports for a protected, tidy cable pathway.
- Installation of customer-supplied Level 2 charger—mounted, connected, and made ready for charging.
- Permit obtained and documentation coordinated for the Duke Energy EV rebate.
