Touchstone Electric completed a professional Level 2 EV charger installation for Duke Energy - Allumia in Shelby, NC. This project was delivered by our Charlotte team based out of our Matthews branch and expertly handled by technician Viktor Opalko. Completed on September 15, 2025, the installation was designed for safe, reliable daily charging with full permit and rebate support.
Scope of Work and Materials
To provide a dedicated, code-compliant charging circuit for the customer-supplied Level 2 charger, our team installed the following:
- New 50-amp breaker for a dedicated 240V EV charging circuit
- Approximately 35 feet of 6/3 NM-B copper cable for robust power delivery and future-ready capacity
- Approximately 30 feet of 1-inch PVC conduit with proper fittings, supports, and transitions for a clean, protected run
- Professional mounting/connection of the customer’s EV charger with correct terminations and labeling
- System testing, commissioning, and documentation for the homeowner’s records
This setup ensures consistent Level 2 performance, reduces charging time compared to a standard outlet, and helps protect your home’s electrical system with a dedicated, properly sized circuit.
Duke Energy Rebate and Permit Support
