Level 2 EV Charger Installation in Taylors, SC
Touchstone Electric’s Greenville branch completed a permitted Level 2 EV charger installation in Taylors, SC for Duke Energy - Allumia on April 30, 2025. Led by technician Josh Key, our team designed and installed a dedicated 240V circuit sized to the charger’s requirements and documented the project so it qualifies for the Duke Energy rebate.
This project is part of our EV Charging service line, with a focus on clean, code-compliant Level 2 EV charger installations that are set up correctly for utility incentive programs.
Scope of Work
To ensure safe, reliable, and efficient charging, we installed a new dedicated branch circuit and completed all required permitting. The installation included:
- New 60A breaker installed in the service panel to support Level 2 charging loads.
- #6 SEU wiring (approximately 75 ft) for the dedicated EV circuit in accordance with code and manufacturer guidance.
- 3/4 in. PVC conduit (approximately 20 ft) for a durable, tidy surface-mount pathway.
- 3/4 in. liquid-tight flexible conduit at the equipment termination for a clean, secure connection.
- Customer-supplied Level 2 EV charger professionally mounted and wired.
- Permit obtained and documentation prepared for the Duke Energy rebate submission.
The result is a dedicated, right-sized circuit that supports high-performance Level 2 charging while protecting the home’s electrical system and the charger.
