Touchstone Electric’s Greenville team (Taylors branch) completed a Level 2 EV charger circuit preparation for homeowner Matthew DaBrescia in Simpsonville, SC. Led by technician Tyler Harris, this project provided a dedicated, code-compliant power source ready for a future Level 2 charger in the customer’s garage. Completed on October 8, 2025, the work ensures fast, reliable at‑home charging once the customer selects their preferred unit.
What We Installed
- 60A breaker installed in an existing Square D QO panel to support a Level 2 EV charging circuit.
- 20 feet of 6/2 NM‑B Romex run through the garage to power the new circuit.
- Charger location positioned to the right of the panel for an efficient layout and future convenience.
- Circuit prepped for final hookup once the customer selects a charger; compatible with common Level 2 configurations.
- Electrical permit secured and filed with the county for a fully permitted installation.
The homeowner is considering an Emporium or Charge Point Level 2 unit. Our team prepared the circuit so that, when the charger is chosen, we can return to complete the final connection per manufacturer specifications and local code.
Code Compliance, Permitting, and Exclusions
As part of this job, Touchstone Electric obtained the required electrical permit for the EV charging circuit. Please note:
- The permit included is only for the electrical permit. If a project requires other permits—such as Historic Preservation, Environmental/Septic, Zoning, separate Subcontractor, or Builder permits—those are not included.
- If additional non-electrical permits are required, we will let you know which permits you can handle directly and/or provide a separate price to process and file them.
- Drywall repair by others: After routing wire through studs, any necessary patching, texturing, or painting is handled by the homeowner’s chosen finisher.
