Project overview
Touchstone Electric completed a Level 2 EV charger installation for Duke Energy - Allumia in Piedmont, SC. Our Greenville team from the Taylors branch handled the full scope: installing a dedicated 60-amp circuit, running new conduit and conductors, securing the required permit, and assisting with the Duke Energy rebate process. The work was completed on March 18, 2025 by technician Josh Key.

What we installed
To power the customer’s Level 2 charger reliably and safely, we installed a dedicated 240V, 60-amp circuit with professional-grade materials and careful attention to code and manufacturer guidelines.
- 60A breaker added to the service panel for a dedicated EV charging circuit.
- #6 THHN copper conductors pulled to support the higher load required by many Level 2 chargers.
- 3/4 in EMT conduit securely mounted with the appropriate connectors, straps, and fittings for a neat, durable surface run.
- Charger positioned for convenient daily use and efficient cable management.
- System labeling, torque checks, and functional testing to confirm proper operation.
Because the charger was customer-supplied, we coordinated placement and wiring to match the unit’s specifications and the homeowner’s preferred parking layout, ensuring a clean installation and dependable performance.
Permit and inspection
Our team pulled the required permit and prepared the installation for inspection. This helps ensure the new circuit and charging equipment meet local code requirements in Piedmont and follow best practices for safety and longevity.
