Handled by our Charlotte team out of the Matthews branch, this project was finalized on August 25, 2026 and included full permitting and rebate support through the Duke Energy program. Project Overview and Scope of Work
Our team installed a dedicated 240V circuit to power a customer-supplied Level 2 EVSE, ensuring fast and dependable charging. The installation was built to meet current electrical codes and local inspection requirements while protecting the homeowner’s investment and their vehicle’s charging system.
- Dedicated 50A Circuit: Installed a new 50-amp breaker in the service panel for a robust Level 2 charging circuit.
- New 6/3 NM-B Wiring: Ran approximately 25 feet of 6/3 NM-B copper cable to deliver a safe, properly sized feeder to the EVSE location.
- 3/4 in. EMT Conduit: Added roughly 25 feet of EMT for neat, durable protection where the run was exposed.
- Customer-Supplied EV Charger: Professionally mounted and connected the Level 2 charger (EVSE) for optimal usability and safety.
- Testing and Commissioning: Verified voltage, amperage, GFCI and breaker operation, and performed start-up checks for reliable charging performance.
- Labeling and Documentation: Circuit labeling and photo documentation to streamline inspection and rebate submission.
Duke Energy Permit and Rebate Assistance
As part of this project, we coordinated the required Duke Energy permitting and inspection process from start to finish. Our office also assisted with the Duke Energy EV rebate submission, helping the customer navigate program requirements and required documentation. While rebate amounts and eligibility can vary, our team’s goal is to simplify the process so Midland homeowners can take advantage of available incentives with minimal effort.
