Touchstone Electric completed a professional Level 2 EV charger installation for Antonia Filippis in Charlotte, NC. On May 3, 2024, our Charlotte team, led by technician Ben Lively, installed a dedicated 50-amp circuit and connected the customer-supplied EV charging equipment. The work was permitted and scheduled for inspection to ensure full code compliance and long-term reliability.

Scope of work
- Dedicated 50A breaker: Installed a standard 50-amp breaker to power the Level 2 EV charger.
- Conduit run: Installed approximately 49 ft of 3/4 in PVC conduit, securely mounted and routed for a neat, low-profile finish.
- Properly sized conductors: Pulled THHN #6 conductors to support the EV charging load and minimize voltage drop over the run.
- Appliance hookup: Completed a major appliance installation to connect the customer’s EV charging equipment, including receptacle or hard-wired termination as appropriate.
- Permitting and inspection: Filed the electrical permit with the county and scheduled the required inspections.
- Savings applied: Membership discount, service call discount, and a Duke Energy rebate program credit were applied to the project.
