Completed Level 2 EV Charger Installation in Belmont, NC
Touchstone Electric recently completed a professional Level 2 EV charger installation for Duke Energy - Allumia in Belmont, NC. This permitted garage setup was handled by our Matthews-based Charlotte team and expertly installed by technician Chris Rogers on April 30, 2025.
The charger location was set approximately 10 feet to the left of the electrical panel inside the garage. Our crew delivered a clean, code-compliant finish with careful wire fishing to minimize wall disruption—perfect for a tidy, convenient home charging experience.
Scope of Work
- Dedicated 60-amp circuit: Installed a standard 60A breaker in the existing panel to support Level 2 EV charging.
- #6 SEU wiring: Ran approximately 15 ft of SEU #6 (3-wire) feeder suitable for a 60A EV load.
- Garage-mounted installation: Customer-supplied Level 2 charger installed and connected during a single visit.
- Wire fishing through finished areas: Additional labor to route conductors neatly through hard-to-reach sections of the garage.
- Licensed manpower: A wireman/apprentice supported the job for efficiency and safety.
- Permitted work: We filed the electrical permit with the county for this project.
Permit note: The included permit is for the electrical scope only. If a jurisdiction requires non-electrical permits (such as Historic Preservation, Environmental/Septic, Zoning, separate subcontractor, or builders permits), those are not included. If additional permits are needed, we will advise you on next steps and can provide pricing to process non-electrical filings.
