Professional Level 2 EV Charger Installation in Asheville, NC
Touchstone Electric’s Hendersonville branch proudly serves Asheville, NC with safe, code-compliant Level 2 EV charger installations. On April 18, 2026, our technician Aaron Smith completed a turnkey installation for Jennifer Derby, delivering a dedicated 240V circuit, clean conduit runs, and full permit support to meet inspection requirements and Duke Energy rebate eligibility.
This project included a combination of outdoor trenching and indoor wiring to position the customer’s charger exactly where it’s most convenient for daily charging—without compromising safety, performance, or aesthetics.
Scope of Work Completed
- Trenching: Approximately 38 feet of trenching at a 18–24 inch depth for underground routing. Homeowners should always call 811 before any digging.
- Conduit: 3/4" PVC conduit installed with the appropriate fittings, connectors, and LBs to protect conductors and maintain clean routing to the EV charger location.
- Conductors: #6 THHN conductors pulled through the conduit to support a robust 240V circuit sized for Level 2 charging.
- Interior wiring: 6/3 NM-B Romex used for the interior segment, including any required junction box to transition to the outdoor conduit run.
- Overcurrent protection: Installation of a 60A breaker appropriately matched to the circuit and charger requirements.
- Charger mounting: Customer-supplied Level 2 EV charger installed and connected during a single visit.
- Outdoor mounting support: A single wood post set in concrete for durable, code-compliant equipment support where needed.
- Permit support: Assistance with permitting and inspection to streamline approvals and ensure compliance.
Every connection and termination was performed to NEC standards, delivering a reliable, inspection-ready installation with capacity for fast, efficient home charging.
