Level 2 EV Charger Installation in Raleigh, NC
Touchstone Electric’s Raleigh team completed a residential Level 2 EV charger installation with a new 60-amp circuit, giving the homeowner fast, reliable home charging. This project was completed on June 17, 2024 by our technician Patrick Burke for customer Sean Lawrie in Raleigh.
The homeowner wanted a clean, weather-resistant setup on the driveway side of the home with a dedicated circuit for consistent performance. Our team delivered a neat, code-conscious installation designed for everyday convenience and long-term safety.
What We Installed
- 60-amp GFCI breaker installed in the exterior panel to supply the new EV charging circuit with added ground-fault protection.
- Approximately 85 feet of 6/3 NM-B (Romex), routed through the crawlspace to keep the run protected and out of sight.
- Weatherproof 240V box/enclosure set on the driveway side of the home to support safe outdoor charging.
- Customer-supplied Level 2 charging station professionally mounted and hardwired for dependable performance.
- Targeted wire fishing through tight areas (about 20 feet) to reach the ideal charger location with minimal disturbance.
This combination provides a robust, dedicated supply for modern EV chargers and a clean exterior finish that stands up to the elements.

Level 2 charging dramatically reduces charging time compared to a standard outlet.
