Level 2 EV Charger Installation in Charlotte, NC

Touchstone Electric’s Charlotte team, operating from our Matthews branch, completed a dedicated Level 2 EV charging circuit for Franco in Charlotte, NC. On September 9, 2024, our technician Christian Cedillos installed a new 60-amp circuit, coordinated county permitting, and scheduled inspection to ensure a safe, code-compliant setup for reliable at‑home EV charging.

This project was designed to provide fast, consistent charging performance and future-ready capacity for common Level 2 EV chargers that require a dedicated 240-volt circuit.

What We Installed

  • 60A breaker for a dedicated EV circuit: Sized to support a Level 2 EV charger on its own circuit, helping protect your electrical system and meet manufacturer and code requirements.
  • Electrical permitting and inspection: We filed the electrical permit with the county and scheduled the relevant inspection so the installation is documented, inspected, and compliant.
  • Circuit wiring: We ran 20 feet of 4/3 NM-B cable to supply the new 240-volt charging circuit, with clean routing and secure terminations for long-term reliability.

Every EV charging project begins with an assessment of panel capacity, circuit routing, and charger location. Our team ensures the breaker, wire sizing, and terminations are matched to the equipment and installation conditions for safe, dependable performance.

Permitting, Inspection, and Rebate Readiness

Because the installation was permitted and inspected, Franco is eligible to apply for a Duke Energy rebate after approval. We provided the details and documentation needed so the customer can submit for the incentive once the inspection is finalized. While utility programs can change, permitted and inspected installations are typically required for rebate consideration.

If you are in Charlotte, NC, ask our team about current rebate opportunities and what documentation you will need to prepare. We stay up to date on local requirements to help streamline the process.
