Project overview
Touchstone Electric’s Charlotte team completed a Level 2 EV charger installation with a new 60-amp circuit for a Charlotte, NC home. This project was completed on February 9, 2026 by our technician Tyquan Johnson from our Charlotte branch, based out of our Matthews location. The customer, Duke Energy - Allumia, provided the charging equipment, and our crew delivered a safe, code-compliant, rebate-ready setup.
Scope of work
- Installed a new 60-amp breaker in the existing electrical panel for a dedicated EV charging circuit.
- Pulled and terminated THHN #6 conductors, routed in code-compliant conduit from the panel to the charger location.
- Connected and commissioned the customer-supplied Level 2 EV charger per manufacturer requirements.
- Labeled the new circuit and performed final safety checks for proper operation.
- Obtained the required electrical permit for the installation in Charlotte, ensuring local code compliance.
- Prepared documentation to help the homeowner participate in the Duke Energy EV rebate program.
