Professional Level 2 EV Charger Circuit & Outlet Installation in Durham

Our Raleigh branch completed a Level 2 EV charging upgrade in Durham for Duke Energy - Allumia on September 1, 2026. The project included installing a dedicated 50-amp, 240-volt circuit and an EV charging outlet to support a customer-supplied charger. We handled permitting and configured the installation to be rebate-ready for Duke Energy’s residential EV charging program.

If you’re looking to add a fast, reliable charger at home in Durham, Touchstone Electric delivers code-compliant, efficient installs tailored to your panel capacity and parking layout.

What We Installed

New dedicated 50-amp, 240V branch circuit from the main electrical panel for a Level 2 EV charger.
50-amp breaker installed and clearly labeled for easy identification and service.
EV charging outlet or hardwired connection set up for the customer-supplied charger, per manufacturer requirements.
Quality wiring practices using copper 6/3 NM-B cable, with protective raceway or conduit where needed for a clean, safe run.
Functional testing to verify correct voltage and reliable operation of the charging circuit.
Neat finish and cleanup to keep the home and garage organized and ready for daily charging.

This Level 2 setup provides substantially faster charging than a standard household outlet, making it easier to top up overnight and start each day with the range you need.
