Touchstone Electric’s Charlotte team completed a Level 2 EV charger setup for Duke Energy - Allumia in Denver, NC on August 14, 2026. Led by technician Daniel Rowe, this project delivered a code-compliant, utility-ready installation featuring a dedicated 50A circuit and a NEMA 14-50 receptacle for reliable Level 2 charging.
Serving Denver from our Matthews branch, we designed the installation to support fast, efficient charging while meeting local electrical code and utility program requirements.

How We Built a Safe, Code-Compliant Circuit
Level 2 charging places continuous demand on a home’s electrical system, so sizing and protection matter. Our team installed a 50-amp breaker on a dedicated circuit, utilized #6 THHN copper conductors for ampacity and heat tolerance, and protected the run with 3/4-inch Schedule 40 PVC conduit for clean, secure routing. All terminations were torqued to manufacturer specifications and the EV outlet location was selected for accessibility and future serviceability.
Labeling, testing, and documentation were completed to streamline the inspection and ensure long-term reliability.
