Level 2 EV Charger & 50A Circuit Installation in Charlotte

Touchstone Electric’s Charlotte team, operating from our Matthews branch, completed a turnkey Level 2 EV charging installation for Duke Energy - Allumia on August 12, 2026. Led by technician Danny Bishop, this project added a dedicated 50-amp circuit and weather-rated charging outlet on the exterior of the garage, providing fast, reliable home charging in Charlotte.

What We Installed

To support a Level 2 EV charger, we installed a dedicated 240V, 50-amp circuit with a GFCI-protected breaker for enhanced outdoor safety. Our team ran new 6/3 copper wiring from the main electrical panel to the exterior garage wall, using protective conduit where the run was exposed and securing all hardware to code. The final connection included a weather-resistant, in-use cover and clear circuit labeling for easy identification.
