Complete LED Recessed Lighting, Ceiling Fans & Dimmers Project in Charlotte, NC
Touchstone Electric’s Charlotte team, operating from our Matthews branch, helped homeowner Charlie Danielson refresh multiple rooms with bright, efficient lighting and modern controls. Completed on March 29, 2024, this project combined new LED recessed lighting, smart dimmers, decorative fixtures, and ceiling fan installations to elevate comfort and style throughout the home.
What We Installed
- LED recessed lights: 6 in the family room, 4 in the living room, and 6 in the kitchen using low-profile wafer cans and 6-inch retrofit LEDs for a clean, even wash of light.
- Chandelier installation: Customer-supplied fixture installed on the existing box/circuit.
- Flush mounts and sconces: 2 flush mount lights and 2 wall sconces provided by the customer were safely mounted and wired.
- Ceiling fans: 3 customer-supplied fans assembled and installed on existing boxes/circuits.
- Under-cabinet lighting: 2 fixtures added in the kitchen for brighter task lighting.
- Smart dimmers and switches: Smart dimmers in the kitchen and dining room for app/voice control and scene setting, plus standard switches where needed.
- Circuit extensions: Select non-dedicated circuit extensions to support new lighting and controls while maintaining code-compliant workmanship.
How We Delivered a Clean, Safe Installation
We chose wafer-style can lights and retrofit LEDs to minimize drywall impact and keep ceilings clean—ideal for living spaces that need an immediate, modern look. Our team used a 16-foot A-frame ladder for safe access to higher ceilings and ensured proper placement for balanced illumination in each room.
To support the added fixtures, we carefully extended existing circuits where appropriate and verified connections at every switch and junction. Smart dimmers were configured to pair with the homeowner’s preferred smart ecosystem (app and voice control compatible), giving easy brightness control for cooking, entertaining, and relaxing.
As part of our visit, the homeowner also benefited from a whole-home safety check through our annual membership program, covering items like smoke/CO detector checks and panel observations for peace of mind.
