On January 15, 2025, the Touchstone Electric team from our Raleigh branch completed an LED lighting upgrade for YMCA of the Triangle in Durham, NC. Led by technician Cody Perry, this Lighting & Ceiling Fans project focused on energy-efficient improvements and clean, low-profile lighting to modernize the space and simplify maintenance.
Scope of work completed
- 2x Ballast Replacement to LED (including bulbs, standard height) – We removed aging fluorescent ballasts and upgraded the fixtures to LED, including new LED bulbs. This retrofit delivers better efficiency and reliability without changing the overall fixture layout.
- 2x Switch (standard) – We installed/replaced standard light switches to ensure dependable control of the lighting on the existing circuits. This can include common 2‑way, 3‑way, or 4‑way configurations depending on the space.
- 3x Fixture Install (Can Light – Wafer) – We installed three low-profile LED wafer can lights. Wafer cans are designed to last longer and fit where traditional recessed housings can’t, making them ideal for tight or shallow ceiling cavities.
All work was performed using the existing wiring and circuits as requested. No new circuits or wiring were added for this installation.
