Kitchen Rewiring and 100A Subpanel Installation in Waxhaw, NC
Our Charlotte team, based out of Matthews, completed a full kitchen rewire and a 100-amp subpanel installation for MUSE Residential in Waxhaw, NC. Led by technician Danny Bishop, this remodel-focused electrical project was completed on November 21, 2025 and brought the kitchen up to current code while preparing the home for reliable, expandable power.
Project Overview
This kitchen renovation required a comprehensive rewire to match a new layout and appliance plan. We provided dedicated circuits for major appliances, modernized the lighting, and ensured all new outlets and switching met current NEC requirements. To support present and future electrical needs, we installed a properly sized indoor subpanel in the garage with a clean, code-compliant feeder.
Scope of Work Completed
- Complete kitchen rewire to the new plan, including updated switching and device locations.
- 15 wafer can lights installed for even, low-profile ceiling illumination.
- Dimmer control furnished and installed for the kitchen can lights.
- Dedicated appliance circuits run for the refrigerator, oven/microwave combination, range hood, dishwasher, gas cooktop, and a future disposal.
- All outlets furnished and installed to code in the kitchen, with required safety protections where applicable.
- 100A indoor subpanel installed in the garage, supplied by a 4‑wire SER feeder and labeled for easy identification.
- 20A dedicated circuit added for a garage refrigerator to avoid nuisance tripping and preserve food safety.
- Two 4-inch LED trims installed at the bay window to finish the lighting look.
- Removed two wall sconces and a two-gang hallway switch box per the updated design.
- Two additional outlets in the master bath to improve everyday convenience.
All work was performed with attention to current code requirements for kitchens, including appropriate GFCI/AFCI protection and neat, labeled terminations for future serviceability.
Panels & Service Upgrades Expertise
As part of our Panels & Service Upgrades and Subpanel Installation services, the new mid-sized indoor subpanel provides extra circuit capacity, better load management, and room for future projects. Proper neutral and ground separation, a dedicated 4‑wire feeder, and clear circuit labeling help ensure safe operation and easier maintenance down the road.
Lighting and Appliance Readiness
The lighting plan centers on 15 wafer-style can lights for bright, efficient coverage with minimal ceiling depth. A wall dimmer allows quick adjustments from task lighting to ambient settings. Dedicated appliance circuits help major loads operate independently, reducing the chance of tripping and supporting the performance today’s kitchens require.
