Touchstone Electric’s Raleigh branch completed a comprehensive kitchen electrical upgrade for James and Janice Donahue in Greensboro, NC. The project focused on safe, code-compliant power distribution for a remodeled layout, improved countertop protection with GFCI outlets, convenient island power, and efficient task lighting. - Fished wiring through finished walls and cabinetry to minimize patching and maintain the remodel schedule.
- Completed safe electrical connections for customer-supplied appliances in line with manufacturer requirements.
Materials and methods used
To support dedicated kitchen circuits and reliable lighting, we installed new NM-B Romex in sizes appropriate to the load and application: 12/2 for 20-amp small appliance branch circuits, 14/2 for 15-amp lighting, and 10/2 where a 30-amp appliance feed was needed. Careful wire fishing allowed us to route conductors through tight, finished spaces without unnecessary demolition.
For the island, we installed rugged floor box assemblies designed for kitchen use and executed clean, accurate cuts for a professional look. All new receptacles were installed in properly sized boxes with secure terminations and labeled circuits for straightforward future service.
