Project overview
Touchstone Electric’s Charlotte branch, based in Matthews, completed a comprehensive lighting and rewiring project for MUSE Residential in Concord, NC. Led by technician Will Cruz, the work brought the kitchen, bathrooms, and garage electrical systems up to modern standards while improving lighting quality and safety. Completed on August 12, 2025, this project is part of our Lighting & Ceiling Fans service line with a focus on professional lighting installation.
Kitchen lighting upgrades and new circuits
To deliver bright, even illumination and energy efficiency in the kitchen, our team installed six 6-inch LED wafer can lights. These low-profile fixtures fit tight ceiling spaces and provide a clean, modern look without bulky housings.
- Rewired kitchen switches and outlets to the updated plan and current code
- Installed LED tape lighting under the cabinets for task and accent lighting
- Integrated dimmers for flexible, comfortable light levels at different times of day
- Ran dedicated wiring for the refrigerator and microwave to support appliance load and reliability
The result is a safer, code-compliant kitchen with layered lighting that makes food prep, cooking, and entertaining more enjoyable.
Bathroom rewiring, fans, and safety protection
Two bathrooms were rewired to improve layout, reliability, and convenience. We added a fan/can combination in each bathroom and utilized existing switch legs where appropriate to minimize disruption while meeting the new layout needs. Outlets in the daughter’s bathroom were relocated to suit the updated design, and we replaced dated switches and wall plates for a fresh, uniform finish.
- Installed and protected the fan/can serving the basement bathroom’s shower area with GFCI to enhance safety
- Replaced or added switches for reliable control
- Installed a total of three new light fixtures for improved illumination
GFCI protection and modern switching ensure the bathrooms meet safety best practices, particularly around moisture-prone zones.
Garage subpanel replacement for modern protection
To accommodate updated protection devices, we replaced the existing small subpanel in the garage with a new panel designed to make room for arc-fault (AFCI) breakers. This upgrade supports current code requirements and adds an important layer of protection against electrical arcing and potential fire hazards.
