Our electricians, Brian Cain and Josh Key, installed a dedicated 50-amp circuit, mounted the customer-supplied Tesla Wall Connector, and handled the permitting and inspection process for a smooth, code-compliant result.
This project was tailored to an existing home and required careful wire fishing to reach the charger location with minimal disturbance, while ensuring the new circuit meets local code and manufacturer requirements.
Scope of Work Completed
- Dedicated EV circuit: Supplied and installed a 50A CH breaker in the customer’s panel to power the Tesla Wall Connector on its own protected 240V circuit.
- Proper wiring for 50A charging: Ran approximately 32 feet of 6/3 NM-B Romex to support the 50-amp circuit, including all necessary junctions and secure terminations.
- Clean wire routing: Performed about 70 feet of wire fishing through finished areas to reach the charging location neatly and efficiently, reducing the need for wall repairs.
- Customer-supplied charger install: Mounted and connected the Tesla Wall Connector, set the breaker rating as required, and verified proper operation.
- Permitting and inspection: Filed the electrical permit with the county and scheduled inspection to confirm compliance with local codes.
Note: We provide the electrical permit for this scope. If a project requires non-electrical permits (for example, zoning or historic), those are not included but we’ll advise you on next steps if they’re needed.
